I just wanted to offer you a different perspective which of course does not validate your bad experience. As an accountant I have 24/7 accountant support, and I'm so impressed that I've decided to build my business with them. What used to take me a couple of hours, entering transactions after the fact, now takes me about 20 minutes. There have been a lot of developments in the field in the past few years, and the software now allows you to automate processes through bank feeds and other means. So I have the perspective as a long term Quickbooks Accountant user (they give us the online software for free), and I must tell you that in my experience Intuit is a great company. My long game is to bring on new clients under my Proadvisor umbrella, at which point I would probably not need a "job." What I like about Quicbooks (according to people who worked as live bookkeepers) is that they actually are very supportive of this (either way they win!). The hourly pay is only about $22, similar what I would make if I worked as a team member at Trader Joes! But they have exellent benefit and my research shows that if you're good at your job, there are increases and promotions, plus a generous bonus (about 8% of your wages) and profit sharing! So while they hire and train people with nominal skills and train them, an old dog like me could progress and get promoted quickly. In the meanwhile, while I'm completing my (free) Quickbooks Online Proadvisor certification, I've applied for a position as a Quickbooks Live Bookeeper. Instead of going back to corporate, I'm now working on expanding my client base so that I can work remotely as I like to travel. I lost my corporate job during the pandemic, and downsized my living to the bare minimum. I've been using Quickbooks Desktop for almost 3 decades in my bookkeeping/accountant/tax preparer side hustle. I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience. I realize your post is almost 6 months old, but I stumbled on it looking for information about Quickbooks Live Bookkeepers. She broke down crying and replied, "I know."Īny tips to make noise at the top? She was Level 1 and they treated her like shit while she was trying to help me. I told her she deserved a job at a better company. I feel so sorry for the woman I talked to. When I got on the phone and told them we were done and I wanted my money back I may be getting the runaround. I asked why would you set up appointments if you don't have anyone? Why not a courtesy call or email? Like I just can't even grasp the lack of customer service! I own a small and uncomplicated biz, and need help invoicing and keeping basic books. I finally find a real human at some random number and they told her that they didn't have any live bookkeepers available and that I would be called in 24-72 hours. I was all ready for the appointment and they blew me off.no call, no apology. So, I paid $500 for the cleanup and live bookkeeping.
